CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) - Charleston County EMS moved to modified operations again Saturday due to flooded roadways in the downtown Charleston area.
Heavy rain associated with a stalled front has caused flooding across the Lowcountry. Numerous roads are impacted due to rising water.
In an update Saturday morning, Charleston County EMS said its ambulances and supervisors are responding to calls for service as safely as conditions allow.
“Modified Operations” means any patients requiring transport will be taken to the closest appropriate hospital.
“We encourage everyone to stay off the roads until floodwater recedes unless travel is necessary. If you encounter flooded roads, please don’t drive or wade through them,” said Charleston County EMS.
