STRONGSVILLE, Ohio – It was only fitting it came down to a two-point conversion.

In a game that featured over 750 yards of offense and 85 points, Strongsville’s defense came through with the final stop to defeat visiting Avon Lake, 43-42, in a thriller on Friday night. It is the Mustangs’ first win in the series in the last five years.

“We believed and we fought, and we came out victorious,” said Strongsville coach Jason Trusnik. “Ultimately, this started last year when I stepped into the office. We were going to play fast, play physical, and believe in each other no matter what.”
