KNXOVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Detectives with the Knoxville Police Department and Tennessee Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested a man in Knoxville Friday on a federal sex abuse charge after he allegedly brought a 4-year-old child to a meeting with an undercover officer who posed as a potential child sex trafficker.

Saturday afternoon, Police said Travis Dewayne Mitchell Jr., 46, of Knoxville, was arrested on a charge of online enticement of a minor.

According to police, Mitchell was taken into custody with the support of KPD Special Operations Squad personnel after he arrived at a business on North Broadway Friday with a 4-year-old to meet with an undercover officer, who was posing as a potential child sex trafficker.
