MARION COUNTY, Ky. —
Two Kentucky firefighters were seriously injured Friday evening when a fire department tanker truck overturned.
It happened when a fire crew was responding to a call in Marion County, Kentucky State Police said.
Around 5:17 p.m., KSP troopers responded to a crash on KY 527 (Saint Francis Raywick Road).
KSP's preliminary investigations showed that two Raywick Fire Department firefighters were in the tanker truck on their way to assist Loretto Fire Department with a fire.
According to police, the truck dropped off the right shoulder of the road, causing the edge of the roadway to collapse.
The driver lost control of the vehicle, which crossed the road and went off the left side before striking an embankment and overturning.
