PENNSYLVANIA (WTAJ) -- A State Representative is looking to provide support to childcare providers through the uncertain status of the state's budget woes.

Rep. Eric Davanzo (R-Westmoreland) is proposing legislation to help childcare providers that participate in the Pre-K Counts program through interest-free loans that would help cover costs as the state continues to figure out the 2025-2026 fiscal budget that has yet to be passed.

"Because of the continued delay in many expected payments across a variety of programs, many of our critical service providers are being forced to choose between securing loans, laying off staff, reducing services, or closing entirely."
