PISCATAQUIS COUNTY, Maine — The search for a missing person in the early hours Saturday led to the discovery of a crash that Piscataquis County officials believe likely saved the driver's life.

County dispatchers received a report about a missing person around 1:30 a.m. for a person who was last seen leaving Greenville Junction, traveling north on Route 15, according to a news release from the Piscataquis County Sheriff's Office.

Deputy Kyle Wilson followed Route 15 north, searching for the vehicle the missing person's vehicle, until he reached the Somerset County line, then turned around, continuing to search along the way.
