ASHLAND, Wis. (Northern News Now) - The Chequamegon Archery Club is putting the final touches on an accessibility project designed to break down barriers and open the sport to more people in the community.

Club president Gary Krueger said his passion for archery started when he was 12 years old. After an accident left him in a wheelchair, he was determined not to let that stop him from pursuing the sport.

“After the accident, I wanted to continue doing something. I wasn’t going to let the accident take any part away from what I used to do,” Krueger said. “I had to find a way to do it.”

The new project is part of a long-awaited goal for Krueger.
