REHOBOTH, Mass. (WLNE)– Lifelong friends and complete strangers alike gathered at the gazebo on Redway Plain in Rehoboth to honor the life of Kylee Monteiro Saturday.
The candlelight vigil honored the memory of the 18-year-old and her unborn baby.
The pregnant teen was stabbed to death by her boyfriend, according to prosecutors , and then buried in his backyard on County Street.
Many at the vigil wore purple — the color of domestic violence awareness.
A lot of attendees said that they didn’t know Kylee but wanted to make sure that they showed their support after hearing about her case.
Those who knew Kylee best said that she could light up a room as bright as any candle, with friends in attendance saying they would never forget Kylee’s kindness.
