HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (WVLT) - A man is in custody after a Saturday night standoff with the Harlan County, Kentucky Sheriff’s Office. HCSO officials made the announcement early Sunday morning.

The case centers on 51-year-old Stacy Huff, the sheriff’s office said. According to a news release, a deputy and an Evarts Police Department officer responded to a home in Colsplint for a domestic issue.

The release said Huff was “highly intoxicated” and had been holding his family at knifepoint.

"At some point Huff obtained a gun and began making threats," the release said.

The responding officers ended up finding Huff’s family members walking across a nearby bridge, and a standoff began.
