Michiganders can expect traffic tie-ups throughout the state this week as the end of summer doesn't seem to be affecting "orange barrel" season in the state.

The Michigan Department of Transportation has announced plans for a number of new construction projects, as well as inspections and other work that will cause lane and road closures.

Here's what to know about new work starting the week of Aug. 25.

Upcoming MDOT construction projects

The following construction projects are set to start this week, according to MDOT, with travel advisories in effect:
