PROVIDENCE, Ky. (WFIE) - The Providence Police Department says a woman will have to have surgery to repair injuries caused in a crash.

According to a Facebook post, officers were called to the 2100 block of Westerfield Drive on Friday.

Police say a woman on a scooter was driving west on Westerfield Drive, when a driver was unable to see her and hit the scooter.

In the post, police say the driver drove off, but then came back to see what he had hit.

The woman was injured, but the severity of her injuries was not stated.

The driver was cited for failing to stop and render aid, but the crash is still under investigation.
