LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a deadly motorcycle crash from Saturday that killed one man in northeast Lincoln.

LPD said just before 8 p.m. Saturday officers were called near N.48th St. and Leighton Ave. for a vehicle vs. motorcycle crash.

The preliminary investigation shows a 29-year-old Lincoln Woman driving a Chevrolet Traverse was driving out of a business lot turning to go southbound on 48th St. when she hit a northbound motorcycle driven by a 61-year-old Lincoln man who was not wearing a helmet.

The motorcycle rider was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the Chevrolet Traverse was not hurt. The crash is still under investigation.
