Rescue crews were searching Sunday off the coast of Salisbury, Massachusetts, for a man who remains missing after a boat capsized a day earlier near the mouth of the Merrimack River.
Massachusetts State Police and Newburyport officials said Saturday that they were notified shortly after 4 p.m. that a 47-foot boat that had left Salisbury Marina with two people onboard took on water and eventually sank off of Salisbury Beach after Hurricane Erin stirred up high surf and dangerous rip currents.

The U.S. Coast Guard was able to locate the owner of the vessel in the water and rescue him. He was taken via medical helicopter to a Boston hospital, where he remained Sunday. He is expected to recover, however, the other ma
