On Monday at 3:59 a.m. a beach hazards statement was issued by the National Weather Service valid from 11 a.m. until Wednesday 2 a.m. for Monroe, Wayne, Cayuga, Oswego and Jefferson counties.
The weather service states, "Strong currents and dangerous swimming conditions expected."
