As we begin a new school year in Eastern NC, pack an umbrella as you head out today, with highs in the upper 80s and near 90°F. A few stray showers or storms are possible closer to the evening time frame. Lows will be in the mid-60s with a few showers lingering. We‘ll see a few showers into Tuesday, then clearing out in the afternoon. Temperatures will be in the 80s and lows in the mid-60s.

Once mid-to-late week arrives, we will see a “fake fall” pattern setting up with lower humidity and cooler nights. Highs remain in the lower 80s, with a few upper 70s for some. Rain chances will be lower throughout the week, along with calm winds.
