The Doña Ana County International Jetport will be able to increase capacity out of Santa Teresa thanks to a now completed $20 million runway expansion project.

"This expansion strengthens Doña Ana County’s position as a trade port, supports our long-term economic growth, while also supporting companies south of the border,” District 2 County Commissioner Gloria Gameros said in a news release.

Runway 10-28 was widened and strengthened and will now support aircraft up to 215,000 pounds or up to a Boeing 757, allowing the cargo operations into and out of the Industrial Park area. Previously, regional and cross-border cargo flights had to route shipments through Las Angeles International Airport before traveling to the region.
