EVANSVILLE, Ind. - An Evansville woman faced multiple charges after allegedly punching a child.

Authorities told 44News that a caller witnessed Brandy Gahl punching and screaming at a child.

The caller reported the child attempted to run away.

Police said the child had redness and a large bruise across their face.

While being questioned at the scene, Gahl reportedly ran away before being caught and taken to the hospital due to intoxication, police said.

She was then taken to the Vanderburgh County Confinement Center and booked without bond.
