Fargo, N.D. (KVRR) — With an open election for mayor in Fargo, the race is starting to heat up to replace Dr. Tim Mahoney, and one young candidate is throwing his hat into the ring.
Jake Coulter is a 20-year-old Army National Guardsman who is looking to bring big changes to the city.
Among his proposals are raising the ticket rates to help balance the budget, streamlining communications to help inform the public and expanding homeless shelters to accomodate the city’s unhoused residents.
He says that despite his youth and inexpirience, he would be a dedicated public servant.
“I’m looking to work 60 or 80 hours a week. Do whatever I need to make the city better. If we’re short-staffed for snowplows, I’ll get a snowplow license and I will clean our streets at two in the morning if that’s
