WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — It's the first day of school for many kids across the state. Students are filled with first-day jitters and excitement for a brand-new academic year.
Two North Carolina figureheads wanted to join in on the fun.
North Carolina Governor Josh Stein and Superintendent Mo Green visited the Washington Magnet Elementary to welcome students back to school.
The pair was joined by Wake County Public School System's Superintendent, Dr. Robert Taylor.
Green posted about the experience with some photos from the morning.
"I loved seeing the high energy to kick off 2025-26!" wrote Green.
