HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) - An Evansville man is in custody after authorities say five people were injured after his weapon discharged during a physical assault against a woman.

According to Evansville Police, officers were dispatched to a report of people blocking vehicles near the intersection of Kentucky Avenue and Gum Street at 3 a.m. on Sunday. Officers were informed after the initial complaint that a firearm had been discharged at the scene.

Officers arriving at the scene reportedly located a spent shell casing, a weapon-mounted flashlight and a "significant amount of blood". Witnesses at the scene told authorities that Jeron Sebree, 29, had been in an altercation with a woman at a separate location before he was told to leave the establishment.
