The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 2:53 p.m. on Monday for strong thunderstorms until 3:15 p.m. for Northern and Eastern Klamath County and Western Lake County.

Brace for marble-sized hail (0.5 inches) and wind gusts of up to 40 mph.

"At 2:52 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm near Sprague River, or 23 miles northeast of Klamath Falls, moving southeast at 10 mph," explains the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible."

The alert is for Sprague River, Beatty and portions of highway 140.

According to the weather service, "If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building."
