DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - A California man pleaded guilty to kidnapping and burglary at his plea hearing on Monday.

Enver Zueros, 34, was sentenced to 30 years in prison on the kidnapping charge, with credit for time served of 166 days, according to the First Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

He also pleaded guilty to a first-degree burglary charge, and Judge Heath Taylor sentenced him to 20 years. Both of these charges will run consecutively to each other, meaning 50 years total.

On March 9, Zueros went to a 89-year-old Summerville woman’s residence and sprayed her with bear spray. Zueros then tied her to a kitchen chair, duct-taped, and restrained her with a dog leash.

Zueros then forced the victim into her car under the floorboard of her backseat.
