CLINTONVILLE, Wis. -- A Madison priest was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly attempted to travel to the City of Clintonville and meet up with a 14-year-old girl.

The Clintonville Police Department said at approximately 7:32 p.m. Andrew J. Showers, 37, was taken into custody in the City of Clintonville by the police department.

He was taken to the Waupaca County Jail and was booked into jail on charges of child enticement, use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, and attempted second-degree sexual assault of a child.

The Waupaca County District Attorney's Office has received investigative reports from law enforcement regarding this arrest and will soon decide on charges.
