FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A deputy was arrested and accused of domestic violence on Monday, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office said.
The sheriff's office says 30-year-old Jaime Mendoza, who has been a deputy in Fresno County since 2016, was arrested and accused of domestic violence.
On Monday, another deputy took a report regarding a crime that occurred on Aug. 18. Sheriff's officials say the victim detailed how she was assaulted and identified Mendoza as the suspect.
“It is disappointing to see one of our own accused of the same type of violent crime that he took an oath to combat," said Sheriff John Zanoni. "I want to ensure [the] public that we hold our employees accountable just as we do community members who we contact and arrest for misconduct.”
Mendoza is a current Fre
