A man was arrested after being found with a firearm in Coventry . He was detained in Bell Green.

Police raided an address on Purcell Road last Friday (August 22). Officers were also seen on nearby Sampson Close.

Officers arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of possession of a firearm and took him in for questioning. He has since been released, with investigations continuing.

In a statement issued today (August 26), West Midlands Police said: “We conducted a warrant at an address on Purcell Road, Coventry , last Friday (August 22).

“A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and has since been released under investigation.”
