BARLING, Ark — Crews from across Sebastian County responded Monday morning after a vehicle was reported submerged in the Arkansas River. While the vehicle was recovered, the driver of the vehicle has not been located.

According to Sgt. Jamar Cummings with the Barling Police Department (BPD), a barge operator reported seeing a car just east of the boat ramp at Springhill Park around 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 25.

Cummings said crews located a white four-door passenger car in about 10 feet of water, approximately 20 to 30 feet from shore. The police department said despite extensive search efforts, the driver has not been located.

The driver is believed to be Donald McGrew, family members confirmed to BPD . A missing person report for McGrew has been filed.
