NORTHERN TIER, PA (WENY) -- Multiple cases of West Nile Virus have been confirmed in Bradford and Tioga Counties. As of Tuesday, August 26th, there have been two positive mosquito samples from Tioga County, and five positive mosquito samples in Bradford County.

In Tioga County, positive samples came back from Mansfield Borough and Elkland Borough, and over in Bradford County positive samples were found in Athens Borough and Towanda Borough. According to officials with the Bradford County Conservation District, once a positive test is confirmed, extra testing is done in the area, and municipalities are informed so they can then tell the public.
