A 19-year-old Alabama man has been arrested after a stolen vehicle case that led to a school lockdown and a multi-agency search in Lee County.

According to Sheriff Jim H. Johnson, deputies first received a report around 8:45 p.m. Sunday about a vehicle stolen from a business on Lipford Road in the South Lee Industrial Park.

The next morning, around 7:15 a.m., the principal of Shannon Primary School called authorities after spotting a man with a backpack behind the school. School Resource Officers and deputies responded immediately, placing the school on a soft lockdown as a precaution.
