The Clemson city attorney announced that the charges against a Clemson football player have been reduced after his arrest.

According to Clemson city attorney Kurt Tavenier, he and law enforcement reviewed the evidence and made the decision to downgrade Schieffelin's DUI charge to reckless driving.

Officials say Schieffelin will pay $600 to the Community Foundation of Greater Clemson, participate in 12 one-hour presentations to local schools on how to avoid drug and alcohol abuse, and avoid making poor decisions as part of the reduction in charges.
