Scattered showers and storms have developed across large portions of the state this afternoon. These storms have brought heavy rainfall, prompting flash flood warnings to be issued for many of the states burn scars. These storms will continue through the late evening hours and into the morning hours of Wednesday.
High pressure will begin to build across southern portions of New Mexico heading into the middle of the week. This will bring fewer storm chances Wednesday and Thursday. The threat of heavy rainfall is still possible each afternoon though. The area of high pressure will shift of southeastern New Mexico by Friday. This will bring more moisture across the state Friday afternoon and throughout the Labor Day weekend.
