The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 3:23 p.m. on Tuesday for strong thunderstorms until 4 p.m. for South Central Oregon Cascades, Klamath Basin and Northern and Eastern Klamath County and Western Lake County.

Anticipate penny-sized hail (0.75 inches) and wind gusts of up to 40 mph.

"At 3:20 p.m., Doppler radar tracked strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 8 miles southeast of Chemult to 10 miles northeast of Crater Lake Lodge. Movement was southeast at 20 mph," explains the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible."
