ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A St. Louis man was convicted on Tuesday of a $200,000 scam involving Kohl’s Cash.
Marshall Lampkin, 35, was convicted by a jury of stealing merchandise by using already used Kohl’s Cash on multiple occasions.
Lampkin would use Kohl’s Cash to purchase items in Kohl’s store, most of the time, over $1,000. He would then immediately use the same Kohl’s Cash to make online purchases, knowing that in-person transactions had not been registered yet.
Afterwards, Lampkin would return the items he purchased in-store for a refund in Kohl’s Cash and repeat his scheme.
Lampkin’s scheme ran from 2021 to 2022, and it was repeated over 100 times in 40 stores and 13 different states.
