BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Baton Rouge leaders are exploring possible changes to the city-parish’s curfew ordinance as they look for new ways to address truancy and youth crime.
Police Chief T.J. Morse, Sheriff Sid Gautreaux, Assistant Chief Administrative Officer Jeffrey LeDuff, School Board President Shashonnie Steward, Metro Council members Darryl Hurst, Twahna Harris and Carolyn Coleman, and other officials met behind closed doors Tuesday, Aug. 26, at the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board Office. Reporters were not allowed inside.
After the meeting, Morse said leaders are considering whether a 30-year-old curfew ordinance should be revised to hold both children and parents more accountable.
