SALINE, MI – Saline Area Schools officials said late Tuesday a full report over the discovery of mold that delayed the start of the academic year at the district’s middle school by three days was still being finalized.
But already, some lessons from the multi-day ordeal were beginning to take shape.
In line with most districts in Washtenaw County, Saline schools started the 2025-26 school year on Monday, Aug. 25. But Saline Middle School’s kickoff was delayed to enable crews to dehumidify and remediate the property after mold was found late last week.
