New track by Bristol composer makes chocolate taste even sweeter
A new tune has been crafted to make the experience of eating chocolate even more delightful. Dr Natalie Hyacinth, a composer, sound expert and academic at the University of Bristol , has created a track named 'Sweetest Melody' to enhance the sensation of consuming chocolate.
The song was developed around musical qualities that have been proven to influence flavour, including pitch, speed and musical key.
Dr Hyacinth delved into 60 years of scientific research to discover how different areas of the brain can interact through a phenomenon known as 'multisensory integration'. This 'multisensory integration' is particularly strong when enjoying sweet foods like chocolate or fruit whilst listening to music.
