MENTOR, Ohio — A 16-year-old girl was hospitalized Wednesday morning after she was struck and dragged by a pickup truck while crossing Center Street in Mentor , city officials tell 3News.
According to a release from the city of Mentor, the crash happened around 6:22 a.m. when a 54-year-old man driving a Chevrolet Silverado turned south onto Center Street from Fairfax Avenue. The truck hit the teenager, who was crossing north through the intersection, and dragged her several feet.
Emergency crews found the girl beneath the vehicle. She was conscious and alert before being taken to Lake West Hospital with injuries that officials described as non-life-threatening.
The incident remains under investigation.
