Rob Nugent is no longer the head coach of the girls basketball program at Belgrade High. He unexpectedly stepped down after two years at the helm.

Amid rumors swirling throughout the community, Nugent confirmed that he had resigned effective the end of business day on Monday.

“I did resign, but whether I resigned or not I would not be the coach at Belgrade High School (in 2025-26),” he told the Belgrade News.

When asked if he could elaborate, Nugent replied: “I can’t other than to say that whether I resigned or not I would not be the basketball coach. But I did resign.”
