A Cleveland City Schools elementary teacher has been named the 2025–26 Tennessee Novice Teacher of the Year for the Southeast CORE Region.

The honor was bestowed upon Blythe-Bower Elementary teacher Laura Stilltrotter. The award recognizes early-career teachers; those in their first three years, who demonstrate a passion for student learning, excellence in instruction, and a commitment to growth in the teaching profession.

“Laura embodies the spirit and dedication we strive for in Cleveland City Schools,” said Director of Schools Dr. Jeff Elliott. “In her short time here, she has made a powerful impact on her students and colleagues at Blythe-Bower. This honor is well-deserved.”
