People have complained of 'chaos' at Manchester Airport after getting stuck in car park queues for an hour.

One taxi driver said he spent more than one hour trying to leave an airport car park after picking up passengers.

Drivers were fed up and 'honked' their horns' in what he described as 'manic' scenes on Wednesday, August 27.

Pictures from the airport captured winding queues in the short stay express pick-up area in Terminal One.

Some taxi drivers and card holders were told it had temporarily moved and was repurposed at the meet and greet returns area.

Long queues of cars could be seen waiting to be let out of the car park, with others also 'trapped in spaces'.

It is understood the temporary decision was made as part of 'ongoing efforts to improve safety and efficiency'.
