After what is likely to be the warmest UK summer on record, autumn is now waiting just around the corner.

There have been four widespread heatwaves over summer, with high levels of sunshine and dry weather throughout the season.

But now that is all about to change as the Met Office has forecast a "wet and windy" start to autumn.

Meteorological summer officially ends on August 31, with autumn starting on September 1 - but it seems as though the leaves are already turning brown and falling in some areas of the UK.
