There was 'chaos' at Manchester Airport on Wednesday (August 27) as motorists reported getting stuck for an hour in queues to escape a car park.

One taxi driver claimed to have spent just over an hour attempting to leave the car park after picking up passengers, which left fed up motorists 'honking their horns' in what he described as 'manic' scenes.

Pictures showed winding queues in the short stay express pick-up area in Terminal One, which some taxi drivers and card holders were told had temporarily moved and repurposed at the the meet and greet returns area.
