CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Hearts across the nation are breaking for the victims of the deadly shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, including those here in Northeast Ohio.

Two children, ages 8 and 10 years old, were killed, police confirmed.

Police said 17 others were injured, including 14 children.

At least two of those injured victims are in critical condition, according to police.

“Officials said the gunman approached the outside of Annunciation Catholic School during a mass worship service and began firing a rifle through the church window at the children sitting in the pews, hitting children and worshipers,” The Associated Press reported.

“These kids were literally praying,” Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey stated in a heart wrenching speech.
