THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WCTV) - Work started on four new affordable homes in Thomasville on Wednesday.

A groundbreaking ceremony marked the beginning of construction of the homes on Stevens Street. This is part of a larger project by the Thomasville Community Development Corporation to provide more affordable housing and revitalize this historic neighborhood.

In a Facebook post, TCDC said these homes will “create a catalyst for not just new homeowners, but new generational wealth.”

TCDC is a nonprofit aimed at increasing high-quality, affordable housing in the community.

Construction on these new homes is expected to take several months.
