CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — "Choked me and I could not breathe.. And I almost died," said 18-year-old Christopher Miller, a current Jay M. Robinson High School student and alleged assault victim.
He demonstrated how he says a teacher wrapped his hand around his neck last school year. Pictures show the bruising his family says was left around his neck from that incident.
"He said me and him was best friends," Miller said.
Now, his parents are suing the Cabarrus County school district and Jay M. Robinson staff for neglecting and failing to protect their child.
"I was left with no choice," said his mother, Queen Miller.
The lawsuit alleges their son was assaulted at least three times while in a program for students with intellectual disabilities.
