CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- An overnight incident ended with a man being shot by officers in southeast Charlotte, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.

Just before 2 a.m. on Thursday, August 28, officers were called to help the Mecklenburg EMS Agency (Medic) in the 800 block of Pineborough Road. This is in a neighborhood off Monroe Road.

Officers say they arrived to find a man acting erratically who promptly started shooting at them. Seeing this as an imminent and deadly threat, officers shot back, hitting the man several times, according to authorities.

Officers immediately started to give the man medical care, and Medic took him to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. At this time, it appears that no officers were hurt in the incident. Three officers were taken to
