CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- The Food and Drug Administration is announcing updated COVID-19 vaccines for the fall, and they come with restrictions.
Health leaders are limiting the new shots to people 65 and older or those with health problems. Local pharmacists are working to learn what will be available for the average patient.
For the past several years, COVID-19 vaccines have been available to anyone six months and older, regardless of medical history. With the new guidelines coming down from the FDA on Wednesday, the pharmacist at Oakhurst Pharmacy worries this may make it harder for healthy children and adults to get the shot.
