A "selfish" man high on cocaine who drove his vehicle into a cyclist, which caused him to be fatally injured, has been sentenced.
Jonathan Knight, now 31, was six time the legal limit for cocaine when he was driving along Ling Road in Loughborough at around 8pm on July 7, 2023.
He was above the speed limit at the time, with the man colliding with Tony Smith, 47, who had been crossing the street at a designated cycle point.
Mr Smith and his bike were catapulted through the air, before they landed in the middle of the road. Tragically the cyclist died from a severe head injury he suffered during the incident.
