BURLEY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —Fall sports are in full swing, and it’s important for student athletes to stay healthy.

“Fractures often happen quite often. Concussions can happen in some of the higher-impact sports as well,” says Dr. Brent Lambson, a Sports Medicine Physician for Intermountain Health’s Cassia Orthopedic Clinic.

Lambson treats numerous athlete injuries as soon as school sports resume, and he has been treating athletes for years.

“It’s pretty common to see lots of muscle injuries, sprains and strains, ligament injuries as well,” Dr. Lambson said.

When it comes to preventing these types of injuries, it comes down to the basics.
