OLMSTED FALLS, Ohio -- For the better part of a decade, Olmsted Falls has hosted a 9/11 remembrance ceremony.
That tradition continues this year with a 9 a.m. Sept. 11 event scheduled at the Olmsted Falls Fire Department’s 9/11 memorial.
“As a retired firefighter, obviously, it’s very important for me to remember all the firefighters, police officers and everyone who laid down their lives on 9/11,” Mayor James Graven said.
“We will have a bagpiper, firefighters and police officers there. The chiefs and I will give a brief speech, with all members of the public invited to attend.”
The 9/11 memorial includes a piece of the World Trade Center. The 12-foot structure was donated by the New York City Fire Department.
