WADSWORTH TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WJW) -- No animals were injured in a fully-engulfing barn fire that sent flames and smoke high into the sky Tuesday, the Wadsworth Fire Department said in a statement.

Firefighters from multiple jurisdictions were called to the 10000 block of Silvercreek Road in Wadsworth Township after the fire had broken out at a 5,000-square-foot barn around 4:30 p.m.

It reportedly took firefighters about six hours to put the fire out. Only one horse was in the barn at the time of the fire and it was removed safely. A bystander twisted their ankle at the scene, but no one else was injured, the fire department said.
